Back to Genshin
I didn't accompany someone today because I slept through my alarms. I woke up really late at around 2:40 a.m. and I saw a few messages from someone that were deleted. Thankfully, I was able to ask someone what the deleted messages were. We talked for a bit in chat about a few things, but someone replied really slowly and I was passing in and out of sleep during those replies. Eventually, at around 4 a.m., I told someone that I needed to sleep and passed out.
By the time I woke up, it had already been 10 a.m. and I had gotten a lot of messages regarding a deployment I forgot. I was super guilty in the morning about missing it and my boss eventually told me off. Someone also asked why I wasn't awake but they messaged at 10:30 a.m. Then they told me that I didn't accompany her last night and I was expecting them to tell me off, but thankfully they just said that I was just tired. To make up for my morning mishap, I diligently did my work and recouped what I could. I also had to do the GitLab migration today. By lunch, someone told me that they had planned to play Genshin and they thought I was busy, but I was free for Genshin during lunch since I was just doing a background transfer anyway. Opening up and playing Genshin with someone brought back so many memories of 2022 and other things. They went to my world and we fought off a few enemies like Childe, the denro cube, and the dendro chicken. I upgraded a few characters like Nahida and Xiangling, but after that lunch was over and we went back to work. We didn't really talk much and after 50 minutes at around 2:54 p.m., someone said that they would disconnect because their ears hurt and that they'll be reading for a bit. I mostly did work and didn't really focus much on them.
By the end of our shift, they messaged me and we talked for a bit before they had to leave and get gifts for Davao. We didn't talk for a while after that and I just did my own thing. By 8:45 p.m., someone messaged me saying that Derek would implement a strict Zoom call to watch them while they were working. This came from a mishap earlier where 3 of them weren't responsive. They were worrying about how to dodge/escape this and I gave a few suggestions. Unfortunately, they didn't like my suggestions that much and eventually wanted to hear none of it. We got into an argument about how they thought I didn't care and even gave me a goodbye letter. They said that they were crying and felt worse compared to before they reached out to me and I just said sorry. I eventually managed to talk them out of saying goodbye and things were back as usual. They decided to sleep for a bit at around 11 p.m. and things were quickly okay.
