Album cover of Abbey Road (Remastered)

Sunday started with me still staying at Loy's house and I'm starting to feel very, very sleepy now, but I can't sleep. I had to burn the Windows 11 ISO to the flash drive we bought and, after burning it from Arch Linux, I rebooted to the install USB. I encountered this weird and obscure error. Apparently, just using the dd program doesn't work when making a Windows 11 install drive. This was a recent issue, happening only on the latest version as of writing (24H2) and I was just extremely frustrated with nothing to do. When I rebooted, the Arch install medium I was in earlier was reset, and didn't have the downloaded ISO anymore. So it's either I wait 1 more hour or think of something else.

Frustrated, I plugged in one random USB drive we had lying around and that one apparently had Windows 11. It's not the latest, but I figured I could install that first, download the latest ISO, reformat the drive, and do the whole process AGAIN. This little maneuver would probably cost me 50 years and I'm so tired, but fuck it.

Installing from an older install medium took SO DAMN LONG. It installed and restarted so many times, it even downloaded bullshit updates during the install process, which was super annoying because I'm so sleep-deprived at this point. While waiting, Kai sent me a "How are you" and we talked for a bit about how things are going with me. She was so shocked to hear so much has happened in my life in just 2 months of no talking, but she also said she was glad that I still upheld the no-contact thing between me and someone. She eventually dropped off after that and I got back to installing and resting between sessions.

The Internet was so slow and I had a lot of annoying setup quirks, but eventually, I reached a point where I could just download things and leave the PC alone to download. I took a long nap while Loy eventually woke up and got ready for the day. He woke me up to tell me that the downloads were done and I updated, installed a few things, and eventually set a wallpaper for his PC.

Overall, he's very happy with how clean his setup looked and he was glad that it didn't look as bad as we thought. Personally, I'm super glad I was able to build a PC from parts again and I got it to POST, with no additional configurations or tinkering after placing the parts. I also told to Loy that I didn't take it apart anymore after we finished building and he also seemed impressed.

Since he was hungry and we were done here, we left in his car to the nearby Popeye's and he ordered for us. We mostly talked about the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch 2 while we were eating, and he also showed his new PC to the other people he knew. We finished our food and he eventually drove me back to my place. We talked about the various Chris Hansen shows over the years and talked about the recent "Connecticut Arc" we separately watched a lot of back in 2021. Then we arrived at my place and he drove back.

I got home and asked my sister when she'd be building her new PC with her boyfriend, and she said that it was later today. I got a lot of rest for the remainder of the afternoon.

For the evening, things were pretty relaxed. A friend talked to me and invited me to join them in Boracay this June, which I quickly agreed to. My sister's boyfriend came over to help set up her new PC in this new, white M-ATX case. I told them that and I mostly ate dinner and chilled for the evening. I spent the entire evening doing some light work and organizing my files between my PC, Google Drive, and iCloud Drive. At the end of the day, I finished organizing the files on my PC and backing them all up.
