Meet the Team!
Today was the day that I would be going to the office to meet my team. I woke up so early and I feel like my sleep wasn't enough, but whatever, I'll just “wing it” today.
Surprisingly, I got there relatively early. I honestly thought that getting there would be a total bloodbath and I'd be extremely late, but apparently it wasn't that bad once I actually booked a ride. I was actually early. The whole “looking for a ride” part was honestly more stressful than the ride itself just by it's uncertainty but I had just let it slide since I'll only go here every once in a while.
Once I got to the office, my teammate found me and I got to meet the team. They were really nice and they also had a friend that tagged along in our booth. I was mostly productive, trying to help them in any way that I can while also doing the task I had been assigned since Wednesday. We worked our morning shift and it was quickly time for lunch.
When we went out for lunch, it was so hot outside. My teammates' friend and I were talking and they told me that they had actually seen my website before. I was so shocked because I honestly thought that they haven't seen it yet. They have yet to talk to me about it or remarked on it, so that was kind of shocking but also flattering since they thought that my GitHub profile was cool. We ate at restaurant nearby and we talked about various things like life, work, how their careers have been at the company, and I also got to talk about myself and my experiences. We had a pretty good lunch but the sisig I ordered was so spicy, I was sweating bullets.
Eventually, we were done with our lunch and we talked while on our way back to the office. We talked about that controversy at the airport where the airport employees had planted bullets onto a passenger's bag to extort them. Scary stuff. We went back to the office and things were still pretty productive between us. I eventually figured out how to finish this task that I was given and I passed it off for checking. After that, I was basically done for work and eventually left.
I booked a ride to Dice's office because I had to get my final pay and other exit documents from them. I had a couple things signed, too. Getting there was a pain in the ass, though, literally. It was such a long motorcycle ride there and my thighs and butt were sore from sitting. I booked a ride to my house after making sure the documents are correct and that I had everything I needed. I got home relatively late-ish and had dinner late, too. But all in all, today was really good and I felt really productive. I achieved everything I set out to accomplish today, and more! So that's pretty great in my books.
