Today was the day I’d meet up with Ange and Raul for our night out in Poblacion! I mostly rested for most of the day but, in the evening, I eventually got ready to meet up with them at Lub d Manila Makati. I got in and plugged my stuff in the room, and I just brought my iPhone and a few clothes with me. Eventually Ange arrives and has some food that they brought back from Modern Shang, and I tried some shanghai or something and it was really good. I also ate some of the Biscoff cookies that came with the room, and they also tasted pretty good.

After a while, Raul eventually arrives and het sets up his stuff and we talk for a bit about work and life after KVH. Eventually, he tells me about his dating progress on Bumble so far and I got curious and a bit amazed at his progress. I mostly tell Ange and Raul my MO when it comes to love and intimacy and then they give me some advice regarding a few things. We eventually get ready to leave for our first stop for the night which was Rewind in Poblacion. We stopped by at 7-Eleven so we could get some money, and then we eventually went inside the bar. We mostly just talked about a few things from Raul’s experience in KVH and we also get some food and pulutan, and they also order a lot of drinks which I don’t finish because of my gout. I also don’t even drink a lot anyway, so I was just there to catch up with them, talk for a bit, and then chill. It got a little loud, though, and we couldn’t really talk much over the music, so we eventually left and then went to another bar.

Our next bar was The Spirits Library, which was just nearby. We ordered a few drinks and they mainly gave me advice about my dating life, what I should do, and stuff like that. I truly believed that I was hopeless in the dating game but they still asked me to at least give it a try. I eventually got convinced enough to keep trying to look for a date and so I made a profile on Bumble. I even paid for a premium account. I tried out the app and placed a few pictures, but I still had it in mind that I’m definitely not going to meet this time around, just like with my other attempts. Raul also tells me of the cute server in this bar and why he primarily hangs out here to drink solo, which was cool. For this time, I would be paying for our drinks and I actually make a mistake because I paid twice and somehow had to spend 4K for this one bar, which was a total bummer. Ange also invites us to talk to the girls sitting beside us but I refused and Raul also didn’t seem interested, so we just waited and then drank out drinks before moving to our last bar for the night.

Our last bar for this evening was Octopus and we just chilled there for a while. I was mostly focused on my Bumble profile but, in hindsight, it was a super waste of time and I should have just enjoyed my time with Ange and Raul. We went back to the room after a while and they mostly got some rest. I was too busy with my thoughts and I even wanted to write a blog post, but couldn’t since I didn’t feel comfortable typing on my phone at all. So I just spent the entire night just staying awake.
