Hatsune Miku Expo 2025 in Manila!!!

28.4°C Showers

Today was finally the day! The day where I’d go to the first-ever Miku Expo in the Philippines! I am excited to watch with my sister and I’ve been waiting so long for this day to come. We’ve both been through a lot and this was just an extremely long journey but we’re here today!

In the morning, we both did our usual stuff and just ate breakfast at home. My sister finally got to try that new electric stove I bought and they were able to make bacon and eggs with it. She cooked great and we just ate breakfast and also ate some of the bread. I enjoyed breakfast and we chilled for a while before leaving. For the afternoon, Ailysh left first and she quickly got a ride. I took quite a long time to get a ride for whatever reason, and I waited for almost an hour or something I even had a ride arrive, but then it started to rain and then I had to quickly get the laundry in, which didn’t take a while but the driver just canceled out of nowhere. They didn’t even call, try to send me a message, or anything. It was pretty weird and I just kept waiting for a ride to SM Mall of Asia just so I could catch up to my sister. I eventually got a ride after waiting and I got there fine, and it wasn’t raining anymore!

When I got to SM MoA, I waited for my sister a bit and she bought a few stuff at Watsons. After meeting up, we went to Mendokoro because she’s never been there before. We see a lot of Miku cosplayers and we got a bit envious of some of the people there with the big Miku Expo shirts and stuff. We wanted to buy merch but we will once we finish eating. We quickly got a seat and enjoy some of the ramen while I charge my sister’s phone with my powerbank. I drink up A LOT of water and we finish our bowls, which was nice. We went to MoA Arena afterward and we easily got in with our tickets. The security lady took my water bottle, though, so it sucks that I’ll have to claim it later. But we got inside and my sister took some photos with a cosplayer that she knows and we wait in line to buy merch. We took a while and my sister goes to take pictures with a few cosplayers and she goes around for a while. I wait in line for a bit and it eventually took long enough and at some point we just gave up because it was 20 minutes until the show starts so we abandon the line and we went to get seated.

We walked around until we found the correct entrance and we got in through the VIP area, which was pretty cool ngl. A security lady ushered us to the VIP seating and I was surprised to get a seat so close to the stage, but we were quickly moved back to the premium seats instead, which was still near but a bit away. It was so nice to get seated so damn close to the stage. We have fun and see the people around us, and the couple in front of us didn’t have proper lightsticks so they just used this JPEG of one and I downloaded the same photo as well for shits and giggles.

EVENTUALLY THE SHOW STARTED ON TIME AND I SAW MIKU HATSUNE ON STAGE

It was so crazy. Everything about today was so crazy.

I would have never believed that this day would come. I didn’t think that we would have a Miku Expo in the Philippines and that I would see Miku live. It was so hype and my mind was blown the whole time. I enjoyed the first few minutes and danced to some of the songs, even though I didn’t know them. Then Rin’s “Sweet Magic” came and it was a song that my sister and I both knew, and we danced along to it. It was super fun hearing the hit songs that we know and love from the Project Diva games and from over the years. We loved a lot of the songs and one of the main highlights was Luka singing. I thought she would sing Just Be Friends, but she sang Double Lauriat which I didn’t recognize at first, but it was so fun seeing Luka perform because she’s my favorite Vocaloid next to IA and stuff.

There was a small break near the end of the concert and people were saying “mou ikkai” or something which meant “one more” and I was just stunned that the band had left off and then there was no message on screen and stuff. I kept thinking if that was it and I wanted 1 more song to play or them to load another video file or something. I wondered where the wowaka song was and I wanted Rolling Girl to play. Then the band came back and played a tune which led to Rolling Girl! It was so hype and all the memories I have in high school of playing Rolling Girl came back. It was seriously so fun seeing and hearing Rolling Girl play on such a loud speaker and Miku performing it live. It was such an experience and I loved every second of it.

Overall, I enjoyed the whole Miku Expo experience. It was seriously unbelievable and I am just glad that I got to this part of my life. Eventually, Miku sang her last song which was Melt and I loved it as well. This whole concert was totally worth it and I wish there would be another Miku Expo soon.

We left and I got my water bottle back, and another person gave out free stickers and stuff, which was pretty nice of them. On the way back, my sister and I were just soaking it all in and how the experience was for us. I couldn’t wait to play Project Diva when I go home and I was pretty hyped to play Vocaloid songs later. We took a while to book a ride home but we just chilled by the Starbucks at S’Maison and we charged our devices. It was quite a while and we tried to book with 9 apps all in all, and it took us a while to get a ride home. We eventually got a ride and I played Project Diva: Mega Mix for a while before we both got some sleep.
