New Monitor Day!
I finally got my new monitor today and that was honestly the main highlight of the day. I spent the start of it arguing and being stressed out at this Grab delivery to that new person I met and the driver was such an asshole. I tried my absolute best to plead with them and they were so thirsty for money, even returning to that person's address and haggling them a tip for the trouble, which is honestly pretty rude. It was such a logistical nightmare that it got me so stressed. But I'm just glad to have it done and I had a short call with that person, Renne, that wrapped up. I finally got my sleep after that.
I had work once I woke up and I decided to work from home today because I had that gift from myself arriving. It eventually arrived in the afternoon during my lunch break and I spent the entirety of my lunch break just setting it up and troubleshooting my Linux install, and then making it work at 1440p at 180hz. It was really fun because I was rocking out to this variant of a song I like, it was “Banana Man” but a parody of it by Chonny Jash, which was pretty cool to listen to. I eventually got it all set up and it was worth troubleshooting broken DisplayPort connections on my GPU and setting up my Apple TV with it. I eventually retired the Sony TV that my Mom brought for me more than 10 years ago and she told the story of how it was bought with her first credit card in Saudi Arabia.
After that, I continued my work and eventually timed out in the evening. I got to watch my friends play Assassin's Creed: Odyssey on Linux at 1440p and it was so breathtaking to just experience things through this new monitor. In the evening as well, I was able to log into my old GCash account and I got in! The account's suspension was finally lifted and, what's better, was that I was able to save 20K and eventually my salary came in! Holy shit, I couldn't believe it when I saw 100K in my bank account again. Holy fucking crap, having my money at 100K again feels nice and I should really have this amount often. It was kind of disheartening to give Mom 15K so soon (even though she promised to return the amount in February), which knocked that down to just 40K or so at the end of the day after paying so much bills and other stuff. It dampened my day a bit, but whatever, I still counted the good more than the bad and I eventually got into a call again with my friends in the evening.
