invisible strings
Wow, today was pretty weird.
Today was Thursday so I spent the early morning just getting to the office. I also asked my friend a question and commuted to the office. While walking, I found this thing on a wall and it turned out to be this big and beautiful moth. I actually didn't know if this was a butterfly, but considering how brown it was, it was probably a moth. I posted it on my IG Story because it just looked beautiful. I eventually went to my desk and my workday started.
Nothing much went on throughout most of the morning. I had lunch out with the team as usual and I had that grilled squid because I liked it so much last time. We just had a small conversation about the work laptop and I recounted my experience with it, but that was mostly it. We went back and I stopped by Zus Coffee to get some matcha. It actually took a long time! I waited for at least 20 minutes just standing! It was the longest matcha I ever waited for. When I eventually got tired of standing around, I approached them and asked if my drink was ready, and apparently it already was. What happened was that they read the order number not who ordered the name. I wasn't given a receipt so I didn't know what number mine was, and apparently it was ready this whole time. I didn't know whether to feel annoyed or not, but I just went back to my desk as fast as I can in case anyone messaged, and thankfully, no one did. I just followed up on my tasks.
Since I had time to kill in the afternoon, I played a few quick rounds of board games with some of my seatmates. We first played Deep Sea Adventure which was fun. We learned the ropes fairly quickly but died getting the treasure at the bottom. I got some of the treasures in the following rounds, but I ultimately placed last when we were done counting the points. We then played Ghost Blitz which was a memorization and kind of spot-the-difference game, which my brain sucks at. I got the least amount of cards, placing last again, which humbled me after last week's round of board games haha.
Come late afternoon or so, I eventually get a message from my friend and I get some recommendations from them. We mostly talked as I was going out to Yabu to have dinner. I was mostly talking to my friend while we were eating and my friend mentioned this journalism competition before when I asked them if they have been to Taguig yet. She clarified what it was and I couldn't believe it. She had also competed in the RSSPC in 2014! I immediately showed them the blog post I had about it and the school photo I took and they recognized it. It was such a weird thing that they also went there and I spent the majority of the night in disbelief, but also in shock because wtf. I honestly couldn't believe that anyone would still care or remember that event, even though it meant a lot to me at the time.
For the evening, I mostly just spent it staying in the office and overtiming as I wait for my sister to be free. She was around the area and we planned to go home together. I eventually met up with my sister and we took a ride home. I was talking to my friend at this time and were just talking about a few things as I eventually got home. She then sends me a picture they took of the school when they was at the event! We both weren't sure if it was the school, but I looked it up online and correlated it to my photo as well. The teal-colored parts confirmed it and I told them that it was the school.
That's so crazy haha. I don't know if it's fate or what but I'm just glad to have met someone who knows that event and actually went there. I admit to them that I've been looking for people who joined that event because I felt like I was looking for someone, but, wow, I was really happy to have met them. It was kind of funny that we wouldn't have much to talk about if we met at that time anyway. What a weird, invisible string. I was in disbelief the rest of the night.
