TODAY WAS FINALLY THE DAY! THE DAY I ATTEND A RAVE TO SEE ZEDD PERFORMING IN MANILA!
I was pretty excited for what was ahead today, but it mostly began with me starting out my day normally. Today starts like how my usual days start and I'm going to the office since it's a Friday. I was also talking to my friend in the morning and I had to excuse myself from the conversation since I had to leave and tuck my phone in my pocket. I got a ride fairly quick and I got to the office just fine, I just played songs from Fearless during the trip because that was the last song/album playing on my Apple Watch. When I got to the office, I saw a few messages from my friend about my journal and they actually corrected me because I got the "rising" sign wrong. I was a Cancer rising and I had penned in Capricorn rising. I issued a few corrections on my phone and went on to have a normal workday at the office.
For lunch, we had it early and I had to accompany a coworker move their car around and we talked about a few things while on the car ride. They were joking that we were going to go to SM Mall of Asia, but they were only joking because I'm always in a hurry for my 1 p.m. meeting. But we just got the car re-parked and we had lunch at Nanyang nearby.
After lunch, nothing much happened aside from me finishing my daily work tasks, attending meetings, and the usual stuff. I booked a ride home and the driver said that he didn't have a raincoat on him. I thought about it, but decided that it's okay if I get drenched in the rain. I was already hurrying to get to Okada Manila anyway, so I decided to take what I could get. I got on that ride and took a photo of me getting drenched in the rain, which I sent to my friend. After getting home, I quickly change into my party clothes and book a ride to Okada Manila.
Thankfully, it didn't rain that much and I wore a super-comfortable outfit. The trip there was pretty much okay, but I don't know why, I just felt a bit of sadness while on the road. I kind of circled back to that idea that I'm not going to make it and that I'd lose the whole 3,000-day thing. But, whatever, it's fine. I eventually found clarity by just accepting that everything won't matter in 3,000 days. I eventually arrived in Okada after a relatively-long ride there.
When I got there, my mobile data signal was kind of horrendeous. I'm glad I had enough signal to be able to transfer some money to Gcash and withdraw it, but when I actually went to the event floor, I couldn't connect to the Internet at all. It's also weird that I just passed by the guards in going to the event floor. I just strolled in, which seemed wrong because you're usually given lanyards and bracelets in events like this, but I just waltzed in. Signal was horrible in there, anyway, so I just went outside again and asked Nicole how to get a lanyard/bracelet so I can properly get in this time. I also asked an event organizer and walked all the way to the proper booth where they're handing out the hand lanyards. I made my way back to the event floor to meet up with Nicole.
It was really hard to contact Nicole because signal was really horrendeous, just like my last concert. I just used the built-in 5G modem on my iPhone instead of using the Samsung Wi-Fi device I had. It worked, thankfully, and I was able to talk to my friend and then Nicole. I eventually met up with Nicole and she gave me a glowing scrunchie as a gift, which was really nice of her. She introduced me to her cousin, which was just sitting nearby. I thought she'd bring her boyfriend, but I guess her cousin is also a nice surprise. We buy some energy drinks because we were really thirsty, and I also asked her to buy something alcoholic. I got some kind of rum and cola AND IT WAS HORRIBLE. It tasted bad, and for 400 Pesos, it seemed like a rip-off. We drank the drinks for a while before returning to the main stage/dance floor.
I don't remember which DJ was playing, but they had some okay tracks. There was one of the spinning cat meme and the "You have to lock in" video clip by Chaewon, which was nice. But for the rest of the set, it was just "okay" so I spent my time talking to my friend about other things. I eventually learn something which kind of made me a bit sad, but I just tried to continue on with the rave while talking to them. After that, Euro Trash was playing and I just excused myself from Nicole and her cousin because I really couldn't handle how hungry I am anymore. I knew it was a long night ahead so I really made use of this 1 hour before Zedd to just eat.
I walked around Okada and I was so lost inside. It felt like an indoor maze. I was looking for restaurants—especially any fast food joint—so I can just eat. I also had signal and Internet connection again, so I replied to my friend even though it was a bit late. Eventually, I found a Jollibee nearby and I lined up, which took a little long. I ordered food at the kiosk, but apparently, I selected the option to pay at the counter instead of paying directly at the kiosk. Had I decided to pay there, I wouldn't have needed to line up, but whatever. I eventually paid, waited for my food, and thought about my circumstances for a bit. I kind of was just feeling "meh" at this point and even kind of sad, I just tried to shrug off my feelings by eating up and getting enough energy for the rest of the night.
After eating, I quickly went back to the stage/dance floor to see Zedd playing. It was around 11:30 p.m. at this point and I'm glad I kind of made it just in time. But when I got there, the guards weren't letting anyone in for some reason. Most of the people were just waiting outside. I never found out why, but I guess they were hesitant to let more people in because they felt like the stage could collapse, or something. I also talked with 2 cool guys while in the line and one called me his "rave buddy" which was nice. Eventually, they started letting a few people in as Zedd's set was starting and I was able to get in with those 2 cool guys. I had to peel away from them, though, because I wanted to find Nicole and her cousin.
I had to squeeze through the crowd because they were so far away and it's extremely packed by now. Squeezing through was a hassle. I remember the general area where Nicole and her cousin were, though, and I tried to find Nicole by noticing which person had glowing scrunchies in the crowd. I thankfully found her and, after a bit of squeezing through, I was reunited with Nicole and her cousin again. They were glad to see me, thankfully, and were also glad I made it in time. I got so many messages from Nicole during my break but I really am glad everything worked out.
We partied hard to Zedd's entire set and I was dancing so much. Some of Zedd's songs were super hype and I remember listening to them back in the 2010s. I just kept dancing and dancing, until I had the idea to check the Heart Rate app on my Apple Watch. I recorded 171 BPM, the most I've ever seen! Nicole's cousin also measured his heart rate, and his was just at around 150 BPM. Even he was shocked at my current heart rate. But I just kept partying and partying. I also recorded some videos for my IG Story and posted some as soon as I recorded them, although most were just stuck on uploading because there was absolutely no more signal in here, and this is despite using my iPhone 16 Pro Max's cellular connection. My battery is about to die, too! Which made me worry a bit, but I just decided to stick around with Nicole and her cousin after Zedd's set so I could charge my phone in their hotel room.
Zedd's set was awesome and it hard everything. It had fire, smoke machines, confetti, lazers, and he ended the set by speaking to the crowd and being grateful that he's in Manila again. He played Clarity as his last song and it was super hype. It ended with a large amount of confetti bursting onto the crowd and that was that. After Zedd's set, a lot of people had left by then, including us. We were all tired and we needed water. At this point, I got a message from my friend and I was surprised that they were still awake. I kind of glad that they were awake, though, because I've been waiting to talk to them again. Nicole, her cousin, and I made our way to the 7-Eleven nearby and I pass by the 2 dudes I had bumped into earlier and I greet them as well as thank them. We got to the 7-Eleven and I got a big bottle of C2 red while Nicole and her cousin gets food and drinks of their own.
We left Okada to walk to their hotel room nearby. I was walking with Nicole and she just leaned on my shoulder because she was super tired by now. I also carried the stuff we bought. We eventually made it to the hotel nearby and went inside their room where I just charged my phone and talked to my friend while waiting to get to a decent level of charge. I took a lot of water and just waited in the hotel room until I had charged my phone enough.
