Parasailing!
Day 2 of us in Boracay started with us still feeling really tired from yesterday and the rainy weather made us want to stay in our beds more. But we had to get up and get dressed so we can make our way to the restaurant across the street for our complementary breakfast. I got the hot choco and the food was nice, even though the portions were extremely small. Afterwards, we took a walk across the Boracay shoreline to Willy's Rock from the restaurant. We took a short walk and took some photos while on the way and then we went back to the hotel room to freshen up.
We just stayed at the hotel room from morning to afternoon. By around 2 p.m. or so, we got hungry and they appointed me as the one who'll choose where we'll have lunch today. I searched for a few posts on Reddit about what good restaurants were open and I decided on Two Brown Boys Boracay since they seemed to have good burgers. We got dressed and left the hotel room by then. We had a hard time finding the location, but we eventually found it tucked inside an alleyway and it was thankfully close to D'Mall, so it was somewhere familiar and not that far.
The interior of the place was actually really nice. We took a lot of photos and Nathan's mom was really impressed with my iPhone's camera. We took a few more photos before having our really big burgers served. Mine was big, like an actual big burger. The biggest burgers I have eaten before were from Zark's, but wow, this one was something unique. I had the Gusman burger and it had a whole sunny-side-up egg inside it, what the hell? It took a while for me to eat it and we took a while to finish our burgers. We were there for an hour or so and then we had to contact the guy Nathan's mom met recently because we want to avail the parasailing trip. We took a few photos and waited around for a bit before we got to the man-made floating harbor that the parasailing company set up, and then we took a boat to that floating harbor.
We had to wait for a while and we had a couple go before us, but then it was our turn to go parasailing! The guys hoisted up this big balloon thing and it was starting to get swept by the wind as the boat was moving. We were attached to some harnesses and a kind of harness for our bodies and then we were off! I brought my iPhone with my and it was the scariest thing to be high up there. I was so scared that my phone was going to fall off (even though I always have my lanyard on it). I took some videos and a lot of photos while up there and it was just nice, even though the sea was kind of dark and the weather was a bit cloudy. I took a few pictures for my IG Story and we eventually were hoisted down to the boat and made our way back on shore from the floating harbor thing. Funny enough, we were the last ones to go parasailing and the employees rode with us on the boat back to the shore. It's also doubly funny once we got to the shore and were walking to the van that it started to rain so hard.
It's funny because, had we been late by a few more minutes, or maybe an hour or so, we would be soaking wet and we might've not been able to go parasailing at all. Thankfully, the office of the parasailing company was just right next to our hotel. I guess that's also why Nathan's mom chose that company.
For the rest of the night, we initially didn't have anything planned. We didn't even plan to have dinner. The rain was a big factor, too, since it just kept raining and raining. The staying in the hotel room, the rain, and just me scrolling on my phone watching videos eventually pissed me off because I could be doing all these things at home. I came to Boracay to enjoy and have a good vacation. So I made up an excuse to go out under the guise that I'd be withdrawing from the ATM (even though I still had thousands of Pesos in my wallet). Nathan, being the good friend that he is, accompanied me and we went out to places near D'Mall and we walked around for a bit.
We ate some seafood at Boracay Uptown and the bill was expensive, around 2K for essentially 2 squids, a pork barbeque stick, and some pasta and bread. But I treated Nathan to it so it was fine. We listened to some live performers who sang a few songs and eventually watched a bit of a fire dancing performance before going out to walk around the shoreline in the evening. We were looking for some nightlife but we eventually figured out that there were none considering that it's an off season and that it's raining hard as fuck. We passed by Exit Bar which just had a bunch of foreign dudes hanging around, so we just continued to walk across the shoreline. We kept walking and walking until we got to the shoreline that was in front of our hotel. It actually surprised me how walkable it was and then Nate and I just went back to the hotel room. The night continued on with just me scrolling, which was kind of a bummer because I really wanted to make the most out of my trip.
