Boracayyyyyyy
Today was finally it! After literal months of waiting, today would be the day I'd get to fly out to Boracay. Today started a little tense because I was super excited and worried for the trip. I wasn't sure if I had packed enough, but ultimately I was able to ensure that I had brought enough stuff for the trip. I was able to close my eyes and rest for a bit before waking up for my 5:30 a.m. alarm.
When I woke up, I immediately got ready and booked a ride to the airport. Since I haven't had breakfast yet, I figured I'd have some breakfast at the Burger King near the arrivals area. I got a burger with some nuggets as my breakfast. At this point, I was talking to Nathan and he asked me to buy food for them, which I did. Leaving my bag (my clothes bag) at the seat so I can order is so anxiety-inducing. I was so scared and paranoid of my bag being stolen, even though it's just full of clothes and my valuables are with me. Thankfully, my worries were just that: worries. I was able to order food and then leave to get checked in afterwards. I was able to print out a stub or something for my flight and met up with Nathan and his mom shortly afterward.
It really feels nice to be in NAIA again, it kind of just fills me with this feeling that I want to leave for good. But today's not that day since I'll just be on a domestic flight. Nathan tells me I shouldn't have brought my passport because we're just taking a domestic flight but I still bring it with me regardless. We wait for the flight and lounge a bit before ultimately boarding.
Thankfully, I got a window seat! I was lucky enough to have a window seat for my flight and I'm sitting next to strangers, which is nice because Nathan would make me hold his Insta360 camera had we sat together and I was at the window seat. The plane takeoff was so loud and it's honestly been so long since I've been in an airplane. I don't remember it being this loud. After watching a lot of Air Crash Investigations on National Geographic, my fear of flying has only increased and it's making me paranoid right now. The plane eventually taxied on the runway AND IT SPED UP. I've been in fast-moving vehicles before, but this was the fastest. It was so surreal to see the ground and then have it disappear from view. It's also funny to see the many rain droplets on my window just streak away and vanish as the plane took off. The plane also had to turn around slightly which made it feel like a rollercoaster as it was ascending and turning. I was thankfully still able to capture the flight on video and post a part of it on my IG.
The flight itself was absolutely scary. At one point, there was nothing to see outside the window but clouds. It wasn't turbulent, but it was still scary to see nothing but white outside of my window. It made for a surreal experience and felt like I was in heaven or something. I managed to charge my phone to an outlet that the plane had and I passed out while playing some K-Pop songs.
After waking up, we eventually reached the skies near Caticlan/Godofredo P. Ramos Airport. I was surprised at how the wings and the flaps swayed in the air, which kind of frightened me. But after doing some quick research, I found out that it was normal and I was just overly paranoid. We got off the plane and I bought a Boracay-themed bag with knotted rope as the bag's handle. I also got a water bottle because I didn't bring one. We made our way from the airport to Boracay after an hour or so of commuting, even via ferry. Nathan mostly stuck to me but I kind of felt like I wanted to be alone and just look out to the sea and surroundings. We rode an e-tricycle that took us directly to where we were staying at: Diamond Water Edge Resort. I was surprised to have ended up in Boracay, though, and I took a lot of pictures while it was still sunny out.
We got into the hotel and checked it, and then we unpacked all our bags. We rested for a bit as we were all tired and a bit sleep-deprived. By the time we woke up, it was around mid-afternoon and we left so we can eat. We took another tricycle to Meze Wrap, which Nathan and his mom recommended since they've tried this before. We took pictures and I paid for their meal since I had money in my Gcash. I tried some skewers and they were pretty good. It was nice and then we shopped for a bit around D'Mall. I found a shop that had such a cute tote bag. It had a cute cat holding a yarn ball and I wanted it for myself, but I then decided to just give it to my sister when I get back. We walked to the beach and that's when it started to rain. I took some pictures with my iPhone and, thankfully, the pictures didn't come out as stormy as I'd hoped. But the rain was getting stronger so we sought shelter at an ice cream shop nearby. It was Ice Flakes Boracay and it seemed like some kind of Korean ice cream shop.
We ate some ice cream and I ordered the matcha one, while Nathan and his mom shared this coconut mango one. I liked mine and it had cute googly eyes, which I just had to post on my IG Story. We ate there for a bit, then went back to the entrance of D'Mall and bought a few things at Budget Mart. I bought a Cinnamoroll cologne because it was cute, a big bottle of Pocari Sweat, the strawberry Samanco fish that I like, and a spicy cheese Buldak cup. I first tried to use my credit card and, to my surprise, it worked. So that was nice to have some stuff purchased. We went back to the hotel room because it was starting to rain really bad.
For the rest of the evening, we didn't do anything much. We didn't even eat out, we just spent it in the hotel room and I ate the spicy Buldak cup.
