It's been more than a while!
I was feeling really horrible in the morning so I had to call it off from work. I just slept the morning off because I didn't feel okay. But eventually, I woke up feeling better and actually just in time to buy Hatsune Miku tickets for my sister and I. It was totally expensive but it seemed like a waste because the more expensive VIP seats were all sold out! I wanted to get a closer seat to see Hatsune Miku! It's such a shame, and I tried to get in on the tickets early but I overslept a bit. Whatever, I just sucked it up and bought tickets for my sister and I.
After that, I planned on meeting someone and she told me to go to the Starbucks nearby so we can play Sky on our MacBooks there, I also planned on giving her the PSP there, too. I booked a car ride there because I didn't want to get more sick and I didn't want to go through the horrible way. The Grab ride eventually arrived and I was sitting comfortably inside WHEN I REALIZED THAT I FORGOT TO BRING THE DAMN PLAYSTATION PORTABLE!!! I just realized IN THE CAR RIDE that I FORGOT THE PSP. Goddamn it, I was in such a rush that I forgot the main thing I was going to give her. I didn't forget my MacBook, but sure, I totally forgot the PSP. So, while in the car, I booked a Grab Express delivery from my house to the Starbucks and I had my sister package it up. I only booked the ride when I know for sure that the car was going to get to the Starbucks first. The car eventually did get there but the flood was so high there, it was crazy and I had to take a picture of it.
Thankfully, the car arrives there and I find a good sofa seat, I also got myself a hot coffee drink and a cookie. I was able to get the PSP shortly afterward and all was well. I also noticed that Ailysh placed the PSP in her running bag. I just had to wait for someone to arrive and she took a while because she had several attempts to go out but had to come back due to the harsh rain.
Eventually she arrives and it was just an okay greeting. We haven't met in-person for months and even almost a year, but things were pretty usual between us. Someone sits next to me and gets her drink while she also sets her MacBook up and we just talk for a good while. We play Sky for a bit with our DualSense controllers and, while she had some pairing problems, we were able to work it out and play Sky together there. I took a few pictures because this meetup was literally unbelievable months ago or even a month ago in early June.
Here was me, playing Sky with someone, at a Starbucks on a rainy day.
It was honestly unbelievable and sounded a bit dreamlike, but this really happened. Someone and I talk and the time passes quickly for me, which is weird because she felt that it passed slowly for her. I showed her my iPhone 16 Pro Max and she calls it a girly phone because it looks pink and has some ILLIT plastic-sticker-thing at the back. We also talk about a few things and she says that her mother's asking if I could get her something, to which I agree. Eventually, it was starting to get late so I order some stuff for someone's mom before she goes back.
Then some random guy comes in with 2 girls with him. That guy honestly looks like someone I know, like he's my former orgmate in college. I message him on Instagram but didn't receive a reply. I whisper to someone that I think I know that dude and I just keep looking at him. Then when I try to sit next to someone, he looks at me and says my name. I couldn't believe it! IT WAS HIM! Holy shit. I haven't seen this dude in years! To think that I would meet him, at a time like this, at a random-ass Starbucks that I don't even visit, ON A RAINY DAY WHERE THERE ARE BARELY ANY PEOPLE OUT is just insane. After this, someone eventually leaves and heads back to her house to rest and they invite me to play Sky later.
Me and the dude catch up about life after college. I told him that I'm still in IT and formerly did DevOps but was still into DevOps. He gets interested so I tell him more about it and how, honestly, it has a lot of money in it. Then we talk about the various things he's done after college, his programming stints, and a Lazada shop he made during the pandemic. He catches me up on a lot of things and also tells me that the girl he sits across to was his fiancee, which was honestly kind of a pain to hear because even the people I haven't caught up with are getting married and moving on to the next stage in their life. It was really nice to catch up with him and talk shop.
After a while, I booked for a ride home while still talking to him. He and his family members eventually leave but I thankfully book a ride home shortly after. The Grab rider asks me to buy a drink for him, which I was hesitant because I honestly believed that he wouldn't pay me back. I still bit the bullet and got him a drink because I really wanted to go home and it was getting late. Thankfully, he did pay me although I just asked him to pay 200 even though the drink costed 300 Pesos with his extra 2 shots. Whatever, it was fine and wasn't much of a loss. The driver tells me that he's been sleeping in his car for a few days now and he usually just does this because his province is far away from here. Thankfully I got home safe and I still had enough time in the day to play a round of Peak with someone and Luan before the day ended.
