It was Thursday and I was still at St. Lukes with my cousin watching over my sister. A few medical personnel come in the room and, to my surprise, it was my former classmate Kiara! It was seriously the most mind-boggling thing I have ever seen. It was such a coincidence to see an old classmate be one of the doctors overseeing my sister. It was honestly crazy because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It was a crazy surprise, but at least it was a pleasant one. I talk to Kiara for a bit as she asks about my sister’s circumstances and they finish her check-up after that.

I just sat in surprise for a while because I really didn’t expect Kiara to be a doctor to my sister. But eventually I was okay with it and I continued to stay up just to make sure my sister’s okay. My other cousins eventually come visit and replace my other cousin in the morning. It was really morning, like 3 a.m. or so, but I’m glad they made the effort in making sure that my sister was okay. We just wait and watch over her in the morning and I took a few pictures of them as well as my laptop. In the morning, I was able to spin up my own Jenkins instance and I wondered if I could shift some of my workload onto that server. I even wanted to expose it to the public so I could showcase some of my DevOps skills, but I read up online and did my research which just discouraged publishing it for the entire world to see.

After that, I mostly just watched over my sister. Kiara came by in the evening to do some final check-ups on my sister and we caught up on a few things before her shift had to end and she had to go home for the day. It was cool catching up with a former classmate, so that was nice. I hadn’t slept yet and we were waiting for the main doctor to do a check-up and discharge Ailysh, but they never came. One of my cousins also had to go because they had other stuff to do, which just left me, Ailysh, and one other cousin. It was still nice to stay in the room even though it was too purple for my tastes. Also, my sister enjoyed watching House M.D. while on a hospital bed, so I’m glad she got to experience that.

Eventually, I just had to force us to be discharged from the room so that we don’t occur other expenses. It was seriously weird that we weren’t given a proper notice that she could be discharged, but it was fine. I also had talked to my day and he said that he would be shouldering the medical costs, so that was nice because I absolutely did not have the money to cover whatever medical bill comes out from this, which is kind of an extreme fault on my side. Adding to the fact that Ailysh’s HMO and PhilHealth wouldn’t cover any of this. Today just felt really weird and it added to the fact that the payment system somehow went down in the afternoon and I had to wait for a bit more and then go to the main payment office.

Thankfully, our dad covered the bill and it really was pricey for this very short stay with not a lot of operations. But I guess that’s St. Lukes for you, and I’m ultimately glad that my sister was fully okay. I paid for the bill after my dad sent the money to cover it, and I took care of some things so that Ailysh could be discharged this night. We also ate at Mary Grace in the ground floor to celebrate in a way. After that, we booked a ride home and Ailysh would have to go home and then pack her stuff so she could stay over at her boyfriend’s house and I could get my well-needed sleep. I just couldn’t wait to get my well-needed sleep after such a stressful 48 hours. Even this whole experience was kind of bad, I’m glad that there were a lot of things that helped make it okay enough.
