That Wraps 2025!

2025 ended with me spending time with the people I care about. I started this day by mostly accompanying someone throughout their work and they even were still playing Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. We continued calling and we watched a few scary videos on YouTube here and there, but things were otherwise pretty chill between us. Around 6-7 a.m. again, we sort of passed out and we eventually both left the call at around 7.

For the morning, nothing much happened and I just slept for 4 hours. I eventually woke up in the afternoon and we got ready to go to Samgyupsalamat BGC. We took a while to get ready but we eventually got a ride there. Once we got there, we found out that the restaurant was closed for today! This feels like Christmas Eve all over again. So we walked to One Bonifacio High Street instead so we can try out Ramen Nagi or Soban K-Town. When we got there, we found out that both restaurants were closed! So we just ate at the Mary Grace inside the mall, which was thankfully still open. I ordered my usual beef salpicao and my family got a lot of food. We mostly just talked and took a few pictures, and I paid the bill. I used my Google Pixel 9 to pay and it was cool to see Google Wallet worked.

After eating, we walked around for a bit as we intended to stay here up until midnight to watch the New Year's Eve countdown. We got some coffee at Starbucks and, at first, the cashier was a little weirded out because my Starbucks card was linked to my Apple Wallet, but they just scanned it and it worked anyway. We had some coffee and we sat down for a bit, changing seats every now and again but we ultimately settled on a spot near 5th Street where the event was being held. We watched a few performances, but I couldn't hear them very well. I kind of got bored so I mostly looked up if I can switch to Apple Music, but eventually gave up on it.

Right around the countdown, we moved closer to the stage and it was PACKED with people. I was kind of worried that a stampede might happen or that our phones would get stolen, but the countdown to 2026 eventually started and eventually 2026 rolled around.

Today was kind of like an encapsulation of 2025, minus my life working. It was stressful, tiring, but all in all, I enjoyed it because the people and my experiences with them made this year worth it.
