Night Ride with Jaze Again!

26.3°C Sunny

For Friday, I continued it by staying on call with my friends as we watched Single's Inferno. It was pretty nice and some of the women were pretty cool this season. We already had picked our favorites and one of them looked so much like Karina, and as I pointed that out, my friends also said that they had the same thought! It was honestly crazy. She eventually revealed that one of her titles was “Karina of the track” and that was so crazy but also understandable. We loved the first episode but didn't continue watching the second episode as my friends had work and I had helped them out a bit with the website. I also got them food and we ate during the night, but shortly after that I got some rest.

For the morning, my Mom, sister, and I had breakfast as it was my Mom's last day in the Philippines for this vacation break. She would go back to Saudi Arabia today and we just enjoyed the meal, talked, took a few pics, had a few emotional hugs before we saw her leave in a Grab ride I booked for her. My sister started crying afterward and I consoled her, but she was eventually okay and I got started on my work.

Friday's work had me pulling in a lot of effort just to get this task completed. I put in a lot of effort into completing what was on my plate and I'm glad I was able to complete a bulk of it and be so helpful to my teammate, which was nice. In the evening, I had some spare time and I asked Jaze if he was free today. I had to go home at around 12 midnight because I had a call with my friends, but Jaze eventually agreed and I was glad we got to hang out again! He eventually arrived to our house and we headed off to Venice Grand Canal Mall. We just talked and I caught him up on a few things I was into last year, even showing some pics of what I did last year. We couldn't decide on where to get dinner, but I told him that I've never tried Tom Yang before, he recommended it and we got food there instead. He mostly caught me up on what was happening in his life and how the recent wedding of our friend was, and he showed me a few pictures that were interesting. It was really fun talking to him and hanging out again and I also learned that Tom Yang was actually like a buffet. It reminded me of my time in those 5-star hotels and some hotel stays that had breakfast buffets. We had a hotpot and some meats, and it was really good. I enjoyed some grilled salmon and some grilled beef, and I even had to order more beef that I had to finish by myself because Jaze was so full. He also told me that one of our friends, Batao, owned Chicken Joo. Not just a franchise of it, but the actual brand itself and that was honestly pretty impressive because I haven't heard from him in so long, and he was part of my core group of friends back in 2021. Regardless, it was super fun catching up with Jaze as this was the first time in a while we got to catch up and tell each other of what happened since our last falling out.

After eating, we went to Mercury Drug nearby because his girlfriend had an issue with their dog, but that was settled and we went to Assi Fresh Plaza for at Tuscany old times' sake. I ordered a few sweets and some Korean ice cream. I tried some new Samanco flavors and I can say I loved them, especially this custard one. I flipped through some of the Japanese magazine that was on the desk and we were also surprised to see this place have a dining area inside it. It wasn't like this during the pandemic and I can see that they took some cues from FunHanMart because they have a place to cook noodles. I just ate some ice cream while Jaze was standling and walking around, burping because he ate too much. It was kind of funny but I also felt concerned.

We eventually headed home and, as we were on the way back, we drove over this pothole and I noticed something fall from the motorcycle and it lit up sparks on the road. I was worried that it was my pocket Wi-Fi or wallet so I asked Jaze to pull over. He tried to get it while I watched over his motorcycle. Weirdly, I noticed that all my items were safe and they were in my pocket the whole time, so I was wondering what fell off the motorcycle. Jaze eventually returned and it was his motorcycle's license plate! He told me how funny it was that he thought that my wallet was now a metal wallet, but he also got shocked to find out that it was his license plate all along. I laughed so hard at the situation but we eventually got back and he dropped me off fine. After that, I got into a call with my friends that extended until the next day.
