A Surprise Mon!

Saturday was initially pretty boring, I was just staying up because I didn't know if Mon would message me, or if someone will, but I just spent it alone. I just had this random need to message Mon good night and I hope she got home safe, and it was that time where she was just waking up, so that was a weird coincidence. We talked for a while before I got to get my well-deserved rest because the past few days have been extremely tiring.

So I woke up and I didn't really have any plans to do. Someone's package from IKEA arrived and the driver called me, and that was a hassle to get delivered, but that was it. I talked to them for a bit on Telegram and then wished them a happy birthday. I just woke up and talked to my sister and other family members who were just chilling outside. Then I talk to Mon for a bit, she says that she's thinking of buying some stuff and seeing a movie, The Loved One (2026). We get to talking and I eventually convince her to go out, and she asks me if I'm doing anything today and I say I'm free, too. Before this, I was literally just browsing and leveling up on Steam, so I had nothing better to do anyway and I'd love to spend it with Mon. She eventually decides on hanging out with me today and we both got ready to meet at BGC Uptown. Since I didn't take long, I had some spare time to set up and sing karaoke with my cousins and sister in the living room before leaving for BGC Uptown. Mon got a ride, too, and I asked her to take care.

I got to BGC Uptown just fine, and I was the first one to get there, which wasn't a surprise. I talked to William and Mariah for a bit, and I congratulated them on getting back together, so that was cool. I got a cream puff from the Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory while I was waiting for Mon. She eventually arrives and gives me this big hug which was cute because it kind of feels like a long while since we last saw each other, and it kind of has been. We walk and talk for a bit, and I notice that some of the icons on her phone were themed, which looked cool. We tried to find Ramen Ibuki and I joked around because she didn't know the area. But she eventually suggests I open Google Maps and, sure enough, I find it and we walk down this street. I asked her if she goes to bars and clubs because we just passed by what used to be XYLO or something. I was surprised to hear her answer, but eventually we got to Ramen Ibuki and get seated.

While we were eating, she mostly tells me about her work stories, like how many kids her coworkers have, and then I asked her what was the craziest thing she saw this week.

I was just shocked to hear the answer, but it was cool to know. I also asked her how her day went yesterday and she also told me of the crazy thing she saw at IKEA, and I joked that I'd barge in there. We then wondered what was this log of charcoal inside the water, but Mon was too shy to ask and so I asked the server and asked as if it was on her behalf. But we eventually got our food and Mon mostly tells me her work stories and another crazy thing she did involving coffee and the Chagee tumbler I gave her sometime ago.

After a while, we finish up and I pay for the bill. Mon approaches me and proposes to me the idea of walking all the way to SM Aura. I wholeheartedly agree and I think it's cute that she asked. We then walk all the way from Uptown to SM Aura, and I talk to her about history of playing Mobile Legends and playing League of Legends with her past friends. She told me about her group of friends that used to play with her before, and how that's turned out. Then she tells me of the place where she had her wallet stolen, and I tease her for this. We keep walking and I do notice that she has a light blush going on, which I ask her about, and she does tell me that she's does have some on by using a blended lip tint, which I was just shocked to hear because I've never heard of that way before. Then she tells me of her other relationship in college when I asked her about it, and then she unpacks a lot of stuff regarding her ex and how she found out about all this.

It was some of the craziest stuff I've heard and it sucks to hear that Mon went through this.

By this time, we were already at SM Aura and Mon pulled on me to drag me into the H&M store. We look around and she looks at some clothes, I also look to pick a fit because I'm going to Korea and it's going to be 0-10 degrees Celsius there, and I don't have any outfit that can handle that sort of cold temperature. Mon and I look around, she sees a few hoodies with some famous bands and their tour dates. Then she finds a jacket that has this weird texture, like it's some sort of sponge. Mon ties her hair during this and I just realized that her hairstyle had changed and it wasn't tied up anymore. After this, we keep looking for more clothes. She suggests this one jacket that looked nice, but wasn't available in the size I wanted, and no other branch nearby had it either, so we gave up on it. Mon pulled my arm again so we can get out, and she pulled my arm several times after that because she wants to show me around. It was kind of cute how she would pull and yank on my arm, it reminded me of how my old girl best friend and I used to be. We eventually stopped by Bershka and this was where I bought a jacket and pants, and I tried them out and paid at the counter.

Mon and I walk for a bit to SM department store and we hang around there for a bit until we get to the 5th floor. We checked out Datablitz first and she checks out a few Switch games, and I was surprised to hear that she's actually interested in getting a Steam Deck, which was honestly pretty cool of her. We then walked to the nearby Gashapon store and we looked around and joked a lot while checking out what to get. I told her to pick whatever she wants and I'll pay for it and then we pass by some really funny stuff. I settled on getting a Minecraft one and a Sanrio one, hoping to get Cinnamoroll. We pass by this gashapon machine that had this “mojojojo” product on it, and it was pretty funny because it had these plushies and one of them was named “You never know” and we just laughed at how absurd its name was. Mon settles on her favorite character from Chainsaw Man and then I got us tokens. I first tried the Minecraft one, then the Sanrio one, and I actually got Cinnamoroll. Which is weird, but also cool I got him. Mon then tries the Chainsaw Man gashapon and she got her favorite character, too! By now, it's super eerie because the odds of us getting the characters we wanted were super low. Idk how that made sense, but okay. We rolled for mojojo and Mon wanted to get “You never know” and unfortunately we didn't get him. We both thought we got a character, Matcha, that Mon just said, but thankfully it was a character named “Loulou,” so that was cute. We stopped by to get a few things before heading to the cinemas.

I settled on Gong Cha since she made me pick, and then we grabbed some snacks. I just got nuggets while Mon initially wanted Ruffles, but that was unavailable so she chose some other bag of chips. We got our complimentary popcorn and drinks inside and she asks me how I made the seat recline and such. Then we joked around and talked before the movie started. We watched The Loved One (2026) and we both thought it was pretty good. I could find myself resonating with Ellie the most, even though the protagonist Eric is literally a senior developer/engineer like me, and that he uses Python at work like I do.

After the film, we split for a while to go to the bathroom and Mon surprises me by hugging me from behind. It absolutely scares the shit out of me and I scream, and a few people turn to look at us. It was so funny. I eventually tell Mon I get easily scared when approached from behind, to the point where my coworkers make fun and try to scare me for it. We stopped by Fully Booked and Mon recommended me Strange Houses, and I remarked that I've had a friend read Strange Pictures and it wasn't that scary. We then go downstairs, then to Watsons, and finally end up at the department store so that Mon can buy some toothbrushes. While walking, she tells me the story of her former long-time friend since elementary and about how they grew apart. After this, I had a stomachache and went to the bathroom for a while and then reunited with Mon as we went downstairs to get some bread.

Our last stop was llaollao for the day but then Mon suggests that there's one a BGC High Street and that we should go there instead. I agree and we walk there while Mon tells me of how her last relationship went. It was some of the craziest lore drops I've ever heard and it was honestly sad and scary that she went through that. It was so horrible to hear and left me totally speechless because I can't imagine myself in that situation. That's where I draw the line, too, in a relationship. The line at llaollao was long so we essentially tried to go to Venchi Philippines in BHS Central Square because that often where my family and I go, but BHS Central Square was closed by this time. I just tried to see what store still served ice cream and harlan + holden had ice cream, so we went there instead and we just chilled at a bench nearby where we talked about life and our own dating prospects recently. After a deep conversation, it was eventually time for Mon to leave so she booked a ride home and she gave a hug before saying goodbye again. I thought about wanting to wait for a bit or walk around to just process my emotions for today, but I already had done enough and I booked a ride home instead.

When I got home, I talked to a few friends and I just processed my feelings from it all. I wondered on what to think about because I hadn't come to a decision yet, and I eventually settled on a decision on the following day, early in the morning.
