Cherry Blossoms in Busan!

28.6°C Showers

I started my morning by having some complimentary breakfast downstairs. I actually loved how there was complimentary breakfast here and I had some delicious food. I ate a lot of soy eggs and sausages, as well as some rice, orange juice, and yoghurt. I gathered my stuff and eventually checked out of the hotel, then booked a taxi ride to Busan Station where I'll do this whole bullshit of hiding my stuff in separate lockers again. I did the same thing as I did before which was hide my stuff separately, and I also got a smaller luggage to store my additional stuff. The lady selling it at the subway market gave me a good deal on it, she was super nice to discount it for me and I paid in cash. After storing my stuff, I was free to explore Busan for the day, which was just hunting for cherry blossom trees that were blooming, and visiting the Haeundae beach.

I got some rest at the Starbucks near Busan Station and then booked a taxi ride to Haeundae Beach. I saw some cherry blossoms that were blooming, but the taxi ride going there was kind of weird because the driver seemed a bit impatient and annoyed at the traffic. It was weird but I essentially just brushed it off. I eventually got to Haeundae Beach and it was so bright out, but it makes sense since I got there at noon. I played “Umbrella Beach” by Owl City and took a lot of photos. Weirdly enough, I didn't see anyone swimming, even though the water was crystal clear.

Afterwards, I walked to some apartment complexes that had cherry blossoms blooming, and I took a few photos. It was really interesting to see cherry blossoms blooming up close. They looked whiter than I expected, but it was nice. I eventually came across a whole road lined with cherry blossoms and there were so many people just taking pictures there. I spent a good amount of my day just taking pictures here and enjoying the scenery because it was so beautiful. I took so many pictures, but eventually I took enough and then decided where to go next at around 2 p.m. I still had my train to Seoul scheduled for night. I ate at the Baskin Robbins nearby and I actually liked their ice cream. Then I booked another taxi ride to Busan Station and the driver seemed more impatient and annoyed at the traffic, weirdly enough. I got both of my luggages and then decided last-minute to cancel my other ticket reservation later in the evening to book a train ride for 4:55 p.m. in the afternoon, since I had so much dead time and I wanted to make the most use of my time, and head back to Seoul.

I took the KTX train to Seoul and I actually sat on the wrong side of the seat, which was nearest to the window. I didn't notice my blunder until 1 stop out, and that's where I moved to my proper seat. Thankfully, it wasn't much of an issue and the rightful owner of the seat next to me eventually sat there and I just chilled for the rest of the ride back to Seoul and played some music.

Once I got back to Seoul, I booked a taxi ride to the hotel and I was scolded a bit again, in Korean, as the taxi driver was already at the pickup stand and I was looking at the wrong way. But it was fine, I eventually got to my hotel and got checked in. The room was more spacious than the one in Toyoko Inn, but it wasn't as big nor as glamorous as my first hotel. I also purchased a weight increase for my luggage as I don't think my stuff would all just be under 20 kilograms. After placing my stuff, I went to have some dinner at a Burger King.

According to KakaoMaps, the walk would just be 18 minutes or so. But that walk WAS HELL as I had to walk up and down several hills. It was entirely exhausting, but it felt nice to have such a safe walk, without any scary, rabid stay dogs and with the cool weather. I eventually got to Burger King and ordered their Tough Pepper Cube Steak Burger as well as some popcorn shrimp, which they didn't have at the Burger King back in the Philippines. It crossed my mind how funny my outfit was, which was essentially a loose-fitting black polo shirt I used to wear at work. It was 9°C out in Seoul and I'm not freezing nor shivering. I absolutely loved the weather. I took the bus to my hotel room instead of walking back, and I essentially just watched some YouTube videos while eating the cheesecake I got from Busan yesterday. I got some well-needed rest after that.
