Night outing with Jaze and Foz

31.6°C Rainy

Friday started out with me actually staying awake for almost the whole night. I was just honestly so bored and I didn't have much to do, but I mostly just did random stuff and killed time. I also talked to someone for a bit, but it was mostly about random topics that didn't mean anything.

After that, I was able to sleep and time in for work. I mostly just finished off the week's tasks since it was a Friday and time just passed. Come the afternoon, the power went out and I got notified that it would take until the evening for the power to get restored. I was surprised that we finally got hit with the rotating blackout thing. I just informed my teammates that I'll be making up some time later. I called up Jaze and told him that we should leave soon, and then my sister got ready as well since she wanted to get out of the house. I got ready, had some cereal, and then waited for Jaze to arrive.

Jaze eventually arrives at my house and we both head off to Venice Grand Canal as a kind of stopover before we fully head out to Cavite to meet Foz. Jaze noticed that the power had gone out and that they were using the diesel generators, and he asked if the power was out and the guard confirmed it. We were just at the food court and Jaze had wanted to eat at SNR anyway, but I suggested that we got to Starbucks first to get a few drinks before eating, since the trip there would take a while anyway. We got a few drinks and talked amongst each other for a while, and I got to charge my devices before leaving since I felt like I would need to charge anyway. We took a while there because Foz didn't want us to go so early anyway. After a while, we finish our drinks and go to SNR at the food court. We stood in line, which took quite a while, and I talk to Jaze about some nutrition stuff that he might know about. We eventually get our orders in and find a table that's next to this Japanese couple. Jaze recommended that I get the beef hotdog, which I did, and it was honestly pretty good. We ate for a while there and Jaze packs his food up because he couldn't finish his pasta. Then we head to Cavite which would take quite a while.

The drive there was pretty okay, even though I was just on a motorcycle. We passed by this sign that said “Love the Philippines” or something, which was at NAIA, and it totally brought back my memory of leaving for South Korea. It actually broke my heart because I remembered that flight so clearly and it just made me miss the day I left for my vacation in Korea. The trip went on for longer but we eventually reach Dunkin' which was someplace in Cavite.

It was actually the first time I've been to Cavite, or at least this part of it. Jaze parks for a bit but Foz recommends that we go to where his car is currently parked. We then drive for a bit more to see where Foz is and we stay inside his car for a bit to cool off because it was cold inside. Foz borrowed my iPhone Air to check it out and I look around his car's dashboard while I was sitting in the passenger's seat. Foz shows Jaze the many features of his car and the things he's done to it, as well as outfitting it with a new exhaust which was pretty loud. After a while of Foz showing off his car, we went to the nearby food stalls which were similar to the ones Jaze and I have been to around McKinley Hill. We stroll through and check out the booths before we settled on getting shakes, and I got some fried food because why not. The signal was pretty dead here, which was kind of difficult for me because I relied on it to pay for my food. But eventually thing's were okay and we ate for a bit while talking about random stuff. We drove off to the restaurant because Foz had already ordered for us.

Jaze took the motorcycle and essentially tailed us, while I sat in the passenger's seat and took many videos as Foz sped and drove pretty crazily. The trip took a while, and we passed by a KKK memorial, which was pretty interesting because Cavite wasn't mentioned much and didn't seem like a big historical landmark, but it was interesting to see a memorial here nonetheless. We eventually arrive at Al-Bayt because Foz is good friends with the cook here. Foz just talks to the cook and owner while Jaze teases me about something he saw, that I was already looking at. The place we wanted to stay at was affected by a power outage, so we went off somewhere else. On the way there, Foz tells me how he's gotten close to the store there and it was a cool story to hear. We eventually settled on a McDonald's nearby and Foz orders a coke float or something while we eat some of the food we ordered.

The food we got was really nice, I liked the different flavors and how it was really flavorful. It's been a while since I had middle-eastern food, so that was nice. We enjoyed our food but we couldn't finish it all. We took a few pictures, but we eventually went on our separate ways because it was getting dark. One thing Jaze and I noticed as we were heading back was how short everything was, and Foz never really got to share his story, which was the reason why we headed to Cavite in the first place. We still drove back and decided to stop at Assi Fresh Plaza so we can just chill down and stuff.
