Sunday and working with Mon!

30.6°C Showers

Sunday was finally Mon's day and it's actually the last day of my long weekend of just spending it with friends. Mon talked to me about changing plans and that we should just not push through with going to MoA today and I decided on someplace else instead. I found a good cafe in BGC, which was Key Coffee Kissaten inside Mitsukoshi Mall, and we agreed to that. I watched Fast Five (2011) just to pass the time and then I got some well-deserved sleep after that.

I didn't do much in the morning and I just slept for most of it and then prepared to leave in the afternoon. It took me a while to book a ride to Mitsukoshi Mall, but I eventually got a ride and I told Mon that I was on the way. Mon got there first, though, and she said that she would be at the food court so she could start work on something. I eventually got there after a few minutes and then found Mon sitting by herself and on her tablet. I was surprised that she just sat at a random restaurant's seat because she didn't order anything. I found it funny and then we talked like usual. It's also coincidental that I passed by the cafe we were supposed to go to, so I got my name noted down for a reservation and then we walked around to explore. Mon kept pulling on my arm like usual and we went to Fully Booked to check out a few things. A cute wallet that looks like a PlayStation 3 controller catches my eye but I hold off on buying it as I get a phone call. It was the restaurant and they told me that a table was free for us, so we went downstairs so we could sit at our table.

We get seated at a small circular table which seemed a bit too busy for comfort. We both ordered a few things, Mon gets that drink that she wants and I try out that interesting drink I saw. We also order some food, but we get our drinks first and we bring out our respective devices and do our things for a while as we wait for the food to be served. We take a few pictures before the food finally arrives and then we eat, while Mon talks about her experiences with work and what she's been doing lately, which was nice to hear. We talk until we decide to get our desserts and then Mon tells me more about her experiences and we actually take a while to finish our dessert, even though we both liked this matcha-mochi-mango-thing. I pay for our food and then we went inside Mitsukoshi Mall itself to just see the other stores inside. Mon and I visit Fully Booked and I bought a book about learning Spanish, while Mon just checks out the other books and manga inside. I also talked to someone for a bit during this time and I explained how I don't have feelings for Mon anymore, and how I didn't even have a crush on her, both of which were her false assumptions about me. After buying the books, Mon and I take a pic of us together and it was pretty cute. We went to Daiso and I bought this funny pouch that had a cat's face on it.

After that, Mon and I walked to Uptown because we just wanted a proper place where we can just focus on our stuff. We tried visiting the Starbucks there, but it was full. It was also strange that we passed by an ongoing mass, but we went inside the mall and then hung out at the Muji there because they had proper seats, and we eventually found a nice spot there which had comfortable seats. Mon focused on her stuff while I finished off some of Friday's journal entries. We also settled on watching a movie, which would be Midnight Girls (2026), and I bought us tickets for it. We focused on our respective tasks for a while, and a I took a few photos of Mon, too. After that was done, we eventually went to see the movie, which had quite a bit of people watching, too. The movie was pretty nice, we found it funny and it's also funny how it opened up with a song I completely knew, which Mon definitely cringed at because I was singing it. The movie was pretty emotional, so that was nice. It got pretty late by the time the movie finished. Mon suggested that we go “Lawson-hunting” like we did before, and we bought a few things at Lawson. I wanted to try out their chicken skin, which was just okay.

Mon and I walk for a while more, and Mon says that she misses walks like these because we just talk about random shit, but also serious topics, during our whole walk. I also feel the same way because I miss just walking and talking with a friend. Mon shares some story of her coworker which I just listen to, and we eventually arrive at my 3rd place, which was Starbucks on 32nd Street. We find a seat that's surprisingly the same place we stayed at in our first hangout. We stay there for a bit more as the next day comes along.
