Morning with Kai and evening with Mon!

My morning started by still walking with Kai and we found a few liminal places near some stores by the road. We eventually got to Poblacion as I started to remember some of the road and kept walking up to The Original Pares Mami House Retiro. We eventually get inside but I realized that I had to withdraw some money, so we go to Lawson across the street, but even that didn't have a working ATM, so we just used Kai's money instead. We ordered stuff and thankfully we didn't overspend. Kai just orders siomai with rice and I got their beef pares as usual, along with some siomai, too. I send Kai some of her photos since she asked for them and I mistakenly sent it to the Baguettes, which I unsent immediately. It just surprised me because they were one of the pinned chats that I had. We eventually finish our meal and Kai decides that we should go clubbing. She wanted to visit this bar/club nearby and we tried to get in, but we were stopped by the bouncer lady because I wore an employee outfit. So we just wait as I called my sister and asked her to deliver the black tracksuit that I wore yesterday. Thankfully, I called her just as she was arriving home. She got to deliver that outfit and I was able to change into it. Also, Kai lets me know that her situationship is also coming to tag along with us, which was nice because I've been looking for someone to accompany Kai.

We all get into the bar/club and we party for a while there. It was Kai's treat and she footed the bill for us. We got a few drinks, some fries, and we mostly just dance to some songs. Kai's situationship didn't initialy want to dance, even though Kai tried her hardest to make him dance with her. Kai dances with me for a bit and she wears the Teletubbies outfit again from last night. We just play and dance along to some music. Eventually, Kai and her situationship dance together and I was left alone at the table. I don't know why, but I just remembered the sudden weight of my decision and I just look around at people who seemed to be together. It just sunk in that I won't have someone like that for me—even a situationship because I wholly give up on love—and my mood just sank lower and lower. I eventually got to overthink about how I wouldn't have a kid and stuff and that this life, a life of hanging out with friends but not being the person for any of my friends, was honestly one of the saddest ideas I had. Even after writing that blog post about giving up, it was just sad that I was resigning myself to a life of being single and alone. I really wondered what did I do wrong to end up here, but it's sad that I got her despite trying my hardest. All of these were just thoughts in my head as there were people dancing around me, which was pretty funny.

Kai and her situationship eventually got back to our table, we had a few drinks that the bouncer lady says that we would get for free and we eventually got free drinks, which was cool. Kai eventually notices that I was crying even though I seemed fine and energetic, and she asks if we should leave now. I wanted to stay since staying at somewhere quiet would only make me think about my thoughts, but she decides that we should go and we went to the Starbucks down the street. Kai's situationship also tells me that he knows where it was since he was just close by, which was a super convenient idea since he could just take Kai home. I needed to sleep anyway and I had my thing with Mon around the afternoon so it would be perfect if Kai could just stay over at his place instead of mine.

We order some food and I get Kai's drink as she passes out for a while on the sofa there. I was surprised to see that Kai's situationship also has the same powerbank as mine. But after charging some stuff, Kai eventually wakes up and we decide to leave and walk around a bit more. It was raining a bit, but it eventually stops, thankfully. We pass by a few joggers and runners as there was some event going on around Ayala Triangle. We walk and exchange a few jokes as we eventually got to our stop which was some random 7-Eleven around Salcedo. I get Kai a drink as well as a hotdog for myself so I had something to eat for breakfast. Then Kai tells me that her situationship actually invited her over at his place, which was perfect because I actually was planning on asking him to take her instead, and I also let them know I had other plans for the day so I couldn't accommodate Kai and make her leave so suddenly. We took a few pictures but eventually parted ways at 6 a.m. since I had to go home and sleep. I also had Kai's stuff like her bag and Nintendo Switch shipped to her guy's place and I got my rest.

When I woke up, I noticed that I had a bunch of messages from Discord but it was about a friend leaving our old group chats. I was surprised because those hadn't been used in years and I guess this meant the end of our 3-person friend group. I just decided to focus on Mon since she was my priority for the rest of the day. I booked a ride to SM Mall of Asia that also stopped over at Mon's place and I eventually got a ride. I eventually stopped over at Mon's place and she gives me this cute isaw keychain that she made, which was apparently the first one she had made. It was super cute and adorable of her to get me something handmade and I decided to treasure it. We were on the route there and Mon lets me know of the stuff that's been happening at her workplace and also of her team coaching duties for the week. She also tells me a few things like how she ate a bucket of chicken alone at KFC, which was funny. We also passed by the place Kai and I were just walking along at earlier, which surprised me, and we eventually got off at S Maison after a while. Mon and I order a few things and I tried that malt coffee that was only available here because this was a Starbucks Reserve branch. I also tried that kalamansi cake that Kai recommended, but it was too sour! Mon and I talk for a while and we finish our drinks, and then we walked around for a bit before the movie started. Mon bought a keychain thing at the Fully Booked indoors and then we watched Colony.

The seats for the movie here was nice, Mon and I played with the adjustable controls and we were both glad that the seats had some kind of lumbar support. We watched the film and I took a bathroom break, which I eventually realized that they had bathrooms inside of the theater. Mon seemed especially glued to her seat and interested in the story, which was great. Sadly, Mon didn't like the ending that much because she found it unrealistic and even pointed it out to me, which sadly made me realize it, too. After watching, we walked and joked around for a bit. We passed by SMX Convention Center which had an event going on, and we joked amongst each other about it. We eventually got to Chagee and I got us drinks, then she told me how cold the bathroom was and I agreed. We took a few pictures, too, and got one of ourselves before leaving.

For the evening, we decided to walk by MoA Seaside as she tells me what her team lead has done for her and how they helped her, which was nice to hear that she has a good team lead looking out for her. We didn't have dinner yet and spent some time at KKV, but after that we had dinner at Italianni's downstairs. It was kind of a time crunch since the movie was starting soon, and we had our stuff ordered for take-out just as it had arrived, which was funny. And Mon told me the story of this Chinese influencer lady who had finessed multiple men. We both ran to the theaters just as it was starting. We got there relatively on time and just before the title card showed, which was good. And then we watched the movie. Mon seemed pretty into it as she was laser-focused on the film throughout the entire runtime. She also found some parts creepy and eerie, which was cool. I was also unsettled throughout some parts, funny enough. After the film, we went to the bathroom and I saw a girl that looked like Mon. I told Mon this and she eventually got what I meant when she saw the girl's side profile. I joked that this was the “still life” version of her and that I was hanging out with the upgraded one, which Mon also joked and found funny.

After the movie, we walked around for a bit and I asked Mon what her thoughts were and what movie she preferred. She said that she liked Colony (2026) more because it had all its plot points resolved and it was well-explained, meanwhile Backrooms (2026) left a lot of stuff unanswered, which I thought was fair enough. We walked around for a bit, passed by IKEA, and eventually made our way back to MoA Seaside again. We ordered drinks at a coffee places that Mon knew and she eventually told me this hair-raising story of what happened to her during one of her commutes. It was fair scarier than what I had watched because my imagination was thinking about it and it actually sickened my stomach. What she had experienced was absolutely horrible and honestly made me wary of public transportation in the Philippines, too. I'm surprised that Mon feels okay about it, but it made me worry for her but ultimately I felt okay that she was okay after all that.

I booked a ride for the both of us going home and it would stop by my house as the last stop after hearing what Mon went through. Mon also told me about a funny poster that she saw on the road and she found it funny how this all began from Reddit. I also got to open up to Mon about my issue with my friends today, about how I think it all ended today, which was nice to get off my chest since it had been bothering me in the background. I'm glad that Mon went home safe and I eventually got home, too, just as time rolled around to the next day.
